On Saturday, 31 July the school Jazz Band performed at Ara music school for Jazz Quest 2021.

The band has been working hard all year rehearsing at 7:20am every Friday to pull off the competition. They played four different pieces, they were Perdido by Juan Tizol, Summertime by George Gershwin, Buckjump by Troy Andrews and Footloose by Dean Pitchford.

The soloists during the pieces were Lucy Boyd on trombone, Estella Wallace on alto saxophone, Lily Saunders on baritone saxophone and Winifred Davis on tenor saxophone. The Jazz Band performed with great enthusiasm and style and received a bronze award for their efforts. They would like to thank Vince Leahy for his tutorship, and extra hours he put in, and Mr Langdon for allowing it to be possible. They are very pleased with their achievements in the competition and are now working towards the next school concert.
