Bickerton-Widdowson Scholarship Award Winners

Sonya Bailey —

Earlier this term we had to award our Academic Merit and Colours at level assemblies due to the restrictions that have occurred. It was unfortunate that parents and whānau were unable to attend and celebrate in your daughter’s success, but as a school we are pleased that we got to acknowledge the outstanding effort and achievement of your daughter in front of her peers

This morning we were able to award the two past students who are this year's recipients of the Bickerton-Widdowson award, which recognises high achievement at NCEA Level 3 and New Zealand Scholarship. The award comes from the Bickerton-Widdowson Trust which is administered by Christchurch schools and stipulates that the students must also be enrolled at Canterbury University.

This year’s winners of the award and the Degrees that the students have decided to pursue at Canterbury University are:

  • Caitlin Westmerland-Drysdale who is studying both Classics and English
  • Kate Dawson, who is studying a Bachelor of Laws and Science, with a focus on Biology.

The school would like to congratulate all students who achieved an award on their success.
