CGHS Lip Sync 2019

Shannae Gibson —

Every year as students, parents and staff pile into the Christchurch Boys' High auditorium for the annual Lip Sync battle, it's no secret that the teachers' performance is one of the most highly anticipated ones of the night.

Not to say that watching other students dancing ridiculously on stage isn’t entertaining enough but seeing your teachers do the same? There are very few things that could even be considered more entertaining than that!

After meeting with Olivia Hay-Smith, their choreographer, multiple times a week for a couple of months leading up to the event, the group of fourteen CGHS staff, including teachers, deans, counsellors and even the new principal, took the stage on August 22nd. Boots and cowboy hats were on and ready to go and the team's commitment paid off as they “popped it and locked it” to songs like "Old Town Road” or the nostalgic “Hoedown Throwdown” from the soundtrack of Hannah Montana.
