Last week during tournament week, Equestrian Sports New Zealand hosted its first ever South Island Secondary Schools Tournament at McLeans Island in Christchurch.

The Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora teams consisted of 14 students who made up three teams. The girls entered a variety of disciplines being run over the whole week consisting of Trail Riding, Dressage, Arena Eventing and Show Jumping. 

We were very pleased with the team results having multiple placings: 

• 2nd overall in the South Island out of 33 teams
• 2nd in the Canterbury Interschools Dressage Competition
• All three teams in the top 6 for the Canterbury Interschools Show Jumping Competition placing 2nd, 5th and 6th
• and multiple individual results as well!
