CGHS —

2018 saw a keen group of students taking part in archery on the field every Tuesday afternoon.

We are thankful to Maria Tucker, our very experienced coach, who makes this possible. The girls have made great progress through the year.

Two CGHS archers have represented New Zealand this year; Lauren Tucker and Olivia Sloan.

Olivia participates in recurve discipline and was in the New Zealand Archery team which participated in the World Cup held in Shanghai. She qualified to attend the Youth Olympic Games camp held in New Caledonia and then participated in the Oceania Championships, also in New Caledonia. Lauren won a bronze medal in the cadet women's 1440 round and a silver medal in the cadet women's match play.

Lauren travelled to Morwell in Australia to compete in the Trans Tasman Archery Competition against the Australian youth team. The New Zealand team had 24 archers competing. Lauren gained a gold medal in the WA-720 Cadet Female Compound on the first day of shooting and a bronze medal in the Individual Match Play Division 1 Female Compound. Lauren also competed for New Zealand in the Oceania Games in New Caledonia
