I am delighted to be at Christchurch Girls’ High school/Te Kura o Hine Waiora.

I was born in Wellington and raised in Christchurch andDunedin. I attended St Mary’s College in my primaryyears and St Dominic’s College in Dunedin forsecondary, followed by a degree at Otago University(including a year’s stint at Victoria University).I began teaching at Avonside Girls’ High School, thenHillmorton High School followed by time out to havemy three daughters. I then taught at Villa MariaCollege for a decade, including deaning roles and Headof the Languages then Arts Faculties. St Thomas ofCanterbury College followed as Assistant Principal,Deputy Principal and then Principal for a decade. Therest is history and here I am!My family consists of my husband Paul, three adultdaughters (Ruth, Beth and Rachel), their partners andthree grand daughters Georgia (5), Grace (3) and Isla (7months). I have three sisters all with their own familiesso we are a big group when we gather.Alvie, our 9 year old white boxer, rounds off the family!My elderly father calls the totally female contingent inthe family the “bella mafia”. Now I have 1250 youngwomen to add to that!
