On Saturday 11th June 2022, the Canterbury/Waitaha heats for Smokefree RockQuest were held at the Ngaio Marsh Theatre.

In what was an extremely successful day, Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora three entrants competed very successfully. Heidingbehindanna (Heidi D’arcy Slade and Anna Clinch) gained first place in the Duo section for the second year in a row.  A tremendous effort.

Our two bands, The Clueless (Olivia Eady, Maddie Iro, Billie Roberts) and The Jehts (Scarlett Robson and Cleo Cavell) performed to an excellent standard and were both selected for the Regional Final. 

In a nationwide competition, which is very popular and extremely competitive, these results are fabulous and a real credit to the talent, musicianship, and hard work of these students. We are very proud of them and wish them all the best for the next step in the competition.
