The South Islands Secondary Schools’ Athletics was a phenomenal experience for the Christchurch Girl’s High team. With 6 golds, 2 silvers and 6 bronzes, the team came away with 15 medals out of 37 entries. As well, there were also 9 personal best made by our athletes. Jaidyn Busch broke the record in the under 19 Shot Put event, which was a highlight for her and the team. The trip was excitement packed, from tight races to hospital visits (luckily not a hospital stay). Our girls did exceptionally well in the relay’s, medalling in the under 15 and the under 19 4x100m relays, as well as the 4x400m relay.
