This course is based on product development with a focus on textiles and garment construction.

Topics and skills in this course include:

• basic sewing techniques

• fabric decorating techniques

• design and construction of a sweatshirt/hoodie

• basic pattern adaptations

• e-textiles

This course is a good introduction to Year 11 NCEA Fashion Technology.

Please be aware that this course has a 'take home' component. By selecting this course you are agreeing to meet full costs for materials that are required. These costs are $40.00 which includes fabrics for small projects, fabric decorating supplies, thread, electronic components.

Course Costs: There are stationery costs associated with this course. Students will be required to purchase their own fabric and notions for their sweatshirt/hoodie project.
