Junior Chirnside Competition
This year’s Junior Chirnside Competition required students to create an A4 poster that represented one of Shakespeare’s works. The 34 entries across Years 9 and 10 really showcased the artistic and literary talents of our Junior students.
Congratulations to Kate Dowdle and Denise Anne Rojo, who won the Year 9 and 10 competitions respectively. The winners of this competition will be recognised at Junior Prizegiving. Given the high quality of the entries, three entries were selected as Highly Commended: Beyzanur Cam (Year 9), Isis McKenzie and Zena Collie-Mazur (both Year 10).
Kate’s poster impressed the judges with its finesse and technological aspects, and used a simple concept to beautifully express a line from Sonnet 65. Denise’s poster captured many aspects of Lady Macbeth’s complex character, rewarding viewers with ever-greater understanding on second and third viewings.
Thank you to all who took the time to enter this competition!
