On Monday this week Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora had the pleasure of the arrival of a visiting Defence Forces Helicopter with one of our own in the Co-Pilot's seat.

Sarah McWilliams (Navy Observer), an old girl who left in 2004, talked to the girls for over half an hour on arrival explaining her experiences in the NZDF. She spoke at length about what it takes to join the Defence Forces as well as what the requirements of flying an Airforce Helicopter entails. Several classes were on hand to see the helicopter arrive and leave, bearing the brunt of the wind forces along with capsized tennis court nets! An exciting experience for the girls.
