Secondary Schools Gym Sports Success

Aimee Didierjean and Katie Garrett —

On Tuesday the 15th Christchurch Girls' High School/Te Kura o Hine Waiora competed at the Canterbury secondary schools championships. We had students competing in both the Rhythmic and Trampoline disciplines.

We arrived at Olympia and we started warming up at 9am. Soon after that, we got straight into competing.

In the Rhythmic category, Meg Buckler placed 1st in the level 5 section and Maya Hurring placed1st in the level 6 section. In the Junior International category, Amelia Benger placed 6th.

We had four girls compete in the trampoline discipline at the competition. Cleo Pearce competed in the 15-16 age category and came away with 1st place. We had 3 students compete in the recreational trampoline category, with Lara Murdoch placing 1st, Katie Garrett placing 2nd and Sophie Field-Dodgson placing 3rd.

We had good fun competing and watching all the competitive athletes at the competition.

Well done everyone!
