Year 10 camp 2020

Cecelia JardineKing —

In November several groups set off for our annual Year 10 camp up to Craigieburn

Over the course of a week and a half the Year 10 Ako classes packed up their gear, climbed into mini vans and headed off to camp.

One night was spent camping in a tent at Mistletoe Flat and the other night was spent in the comfort of Forest Lodge, five kilometres up the Mt Cheeseman Road.

The weather for all groups was patchy with plenty of rain and sunshine, but luckily it was not bad enough to dampen the spirits and no one suffered from bad sunburn this year.

Students enjoyed a range of activities, from walking to Helicopter Hill along the Edge track, walking the Dracophyllum track paddleboarding, kayaking, abseiling and a rogaine. One of the best highlights, however, seemed to be the campfire at the skating rink at Forest Lodge, complete with toasted marshmellows.

Mr Tim Lewis was the organiser of the camp and he was well-supported by the keen staff who accompanied the groups. It was another very successful and enjoyable year of Year 10 camps.
