Myths, Legends And Fairy Tales In The Library 2019

Linley Earnshaw —

Book Week 2019 was a chance to promote our much-loved mythical stories. A huge dragon greeted all visitors to the library - made by our student librarians over many weeks, and it was magnificent.

They also made displays for Maui, Pandora, Medusa and all the leaves on our 'trees'. The lights were dimmed, the forest had grown and the atmosphere was very quiet and studious, despite the huge number of visitors we had, including Little Red Riding Hood, Wonder Woman, two Unicorns (one with multiple legs) and a Yeti. Author and performer, Daisy Lavea-Timo introduced us to 'Slam poetry,' an event that inspired the packed PAC and gave voice to our Paskfika students. We gave out lots of chocolate prizes and want to say thanks to everyone for being a part of our annual celebration of books.
