Graphics - Design and Visual Communications - Level 1


Qualification: NCEA Level 1

Entry requirements: Year 10 Graphics preferred but not essential.

Content/Skills: This course introduces students to graphical design. Areas of study include Product Design, Architectural Design. Students will complete project work that requires them to create individual solutions for specific situations. At the completion of the course students will have mastered a variety of informal and formal drawing, modelling and rendering skills. The study of an influential designer is undertaken and then students design in the style of this designer to complete an architectural brief.

Formal drawing techniques such as isometric drawing are undertaken using a variety of modes including computer aided design.
