Wellington Phoenix U20 Reserves call up.

Darsha Keogan has struggled to find a football club that fully supports her needs as a young player over the years.

Keogan has played with boys since the age of 7 and discovered that playing with the boys allows for more growth and development as a player both on and off the field. However, she soon encountered barriers, such as "no pathway for girls," and discovered that there are too many restrictions with playing with the boys. 

With encouragement from a couple of her coaches and teachers, Darsha made a significant leap of faith. She received an invitation to trial for the Wellington Phoenix academy girls programme at the beginning of Term 3, and she was accepted to train and play with them in 2023. 

This is very exciting for Darsha and we wish her luck for her football future.
