Qualification: NCEA Level 3
Entry requirements: NCEA Art Level 2 Painting and Printmaking. Exceptions may be made only in consultation with the HOD Art.
Content/Skills: Students will be examined on their knowledge of at least one established form of printmaking, through a variety of work consisting of drawing notes, developed sequences of drawings, proof prints and finished works in print that show how pictorial ideas and the relationships between such ideas, methods, materials and forms are developed, clarified and resolved.
Students wishing to pursue a career in any of the fields of Visual Arts (Architecture, Advertising, Illustration, Film, Interior or Graphic Design, Digital Photography) are prepared for tertiary study.
Field Trips: Museums and galleries.
Stationery costs will range from: $40.00 - $60.00 depending on what equipment a student may already have.
Please be aware that this course has associated costs. By selecting this course you will be requested to make contributions connected to its delivery. These costs for specialist art materials are: $100.00.
Each student will be provided with access to Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and print credit for completed work for the formative and summative assessments. For all extra printing students will need to purchase print credit.
