CGHS takes on the Canterbury Cross Country
A chilly winter’s day brought only the keenest runners to the Ascot Golf course to race at the Canterbury Cross Country Champs on Tuesday 30th of May.
CGHS was well represented with top 10 placings in all grades.
In the Year 9 race Paris Carroll stole the show with a win, Emma Parke came in 2nd and Madeline Sharpe took out 6th place. In the U16 grade Rosie Trotter pulled out a convincing win, with Sophie Williamson coming in 2nd and Ella McDonald finishing in 9th place. In the senior grade Akeira Worthington took 5th place and Lucy Kokich took 9th place.
Overall CGHS ran amazingly well and the team is definitely looking strong leading into the next big race in Taupo - the National Secondary Schools Cross Country.
