The main school sports days are held early in Term 1.

Individual and team races are held. 

House points are awarded as well as school cups.

Placegetters are selected to represent the school at inter-school and South Island championships. As well as competitions against other Christchurch schools, Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora has a Quadrangular Tournament with Avonside, Timaru and Waitaki Girls’ High Schools.

Students must wear school PE/Sport uniform as outlined on the school website and the school sports website.
