Congratulations to Olivia Sloan who was in Madrid last week representing New Zealand in archery.

Olivia achieved a personal best in the ranking round which would have been a NZ record if it was shot in NZ. She ended up ranking 24th in the ranking round. This was high enough to get a bye into the second round of match play, which she lost 5-7. Overall Olivia ranked 33rd equal out of 83 women in her division at the competition.

Olivia really enjoyed being able to shoot with the world’s top young archers and representing New Zealand in the mixed team match play event where she and her teammate versed India. Only the top 24 countries got to shoot in this round. Competing in the heart of Madrid meant she could absorb the culture as well.
