Aerobics 2019

Laura Patient —

This year the CGHS Aerobics team competed fabulously in both their regional and national competitions for 2019.

Regionals saw Katie Ingram, Year 9, receive first place, Reed Mchugh, Year 9, receive 2nd place, Georgia Walker, Year 10, receive 3rd place, Claudia Wright, Year 11, receive 2nd place, and Courtney Hillyer, Year 10, receive 3rd place. All the girls looked amazing on stage and finished the day with winning the regional cup for the best school - a tradition for Girls High from the last few years.

The team who travelled to Queenstown for nationals consisted of Jade Cotter, Katie Ingram, Claudia Wright, and Courtney Hillyer. The girls again showed off their talents as they competed their routines with ease, while looking stunning in their custom-made leotards. The trip also included gelato and an interesting visit to Fear Factory after heats.

A massive thank you to all the girls for putting their all into the sport throughout the year, and giving up every Saturday morning for training. An even bigger thank you to the coaches who gave up their mornings and countless hours to create routines, coach and complete admin for their athletes. This includes Maggie Harris, Zoe Lynch, Claudia Wright, Laura Patient, Emma Patterson, Kate May, and Taylor Lowson. Thank you especially to co-captain Emma Patterson for her dedication and great assistance throughout the year as an excellent coach and leader. Lastly, thank you to Mrs Jardine-King and Mrs Naughton for accompanying the team to Queenstown, and to our team teacher, Mrs Bailey, for her organisation and commitment to Aerobics.  We really appreciate your role this year.

Enjoy next year girls!
