UC German Immersion Day

Natasha Smith —

Some of our German senior students had the opportunity to attend a UC German Immersion Day last Friday 26 May.

The day consisted of speakers from the University, the German Embassy, the Chamber of Commerce, the Goethe Institute and a number of other organisations and businesses that offer positions that require the German language.

In addition, the students heard from the DAAD which is one of the largest scholarship organisations that support free tertiary study in Germany and Austria. It was an informative day that also included a treasure hunt around the campus and a lovely morning tea put on by the university consisting of none other than freshly baked Pretzels!  Opportunities like these are invaluable for our students, they are able to experience a little more of what tertiary study involves and see where their studies can lead them.

The students were exemplary in how they represented the school and a pleasure to have off-site.
