What a lovely year 2019 was for Sheppard House and what a pleasure it was to lead it!

Sheppard House felt like a family of fun and enthusiastic people this year. Starting with Athletics Day was a great way to establish team spirit and encourage everybody to give something a go. Along with this, everyone absolutely nailed the dressing up aspect of Athletics Day and got super purple which was so awesome to see! The purple sea of clothing followed on through to Swimming Sports where many Sheppard House members excelled!

Our Lip Sync theme this year was ‘feminism’ in honour of the legendary Kate Sheppard. I think Sheppard House definitely did Kate proud and even scored a lucky wee 2nd place ! I want to say a big thanks to Ms Peawini who spent hours tirelessly organising the event and to Liv Hay-Smith who went above and beyond to craft some amazing choreography for our 7 minutes of fun.

I feel very thankful to have been the leader of Sheppard House in 2019. I got to meet so many new, cool and talented people who I hope will continue to enjoy the house culture in Christchurch Girls' High School /Te Kura o Hine Waiora as there is no better way to create friendships and have a great time! Thanks for the huge amounts of fun Sheppard legends! :)
