Outstanding Performances at the Canterbury Duathlon

Brynlea Pain, Head of Multisport —

On Monday 6th August, the Christchurch Girls’ High School Multisport Team competed in the Canterbury Secondary Schools Duathlon held at the Ruapuna Raceway.

Despite this annual event once again providing some tough racing conditions, the team competed to their absolute bests and delivered some outstanding performances.

  • In the female under 14 individual category, Paris Carroll put in a fantastic effort and brought home the bronze medal whilst Caitlin Baker finished in 8th place.
  • In the female under 16 individual category we had some very impressive results with Olivia Kikstra taking out 1st place, Pixie Cockerill in 3rd and Ella Mcdonald in 7th.

Our team competitors were also very successful with all three of our teams medalling.

  • Our under 14 team of Estella Wallace, Amie Kellow and Madeline Sharpe took out 2nd place.
  • Our under 16 team of Lili Ovendale and Harriet Rowse also placed 2nd in their category.
  • Our under 19 team of Brynlea Pain and Caitlin Titheridge also battled it out to earn the silver medal in their category.

The girls performed to the best of their abilities and should be extremely proud of their achievements!! This event has proved to be yet another successful event for Girls' High and we hope for the same fantastic results next year!!
