This programme is for students whose first language is not English and caters for both domestic and international students.

This course offers 14 Level 2 NCEA English Achievement Standards. It is designed to enable English Language Learners to complete English standards using appropriate texts.

Students will complete two internal assessments and two external assessments.

Internal Assessments

• AS91102 (English 2.5): Oral Presentation (3 credits)

• AS91103 (English 2.6): Create a Visual Text (3 credits)

External Assessment

• AS91098 (English 2.1): Written Text (4 credits; Reading/Writing)

• AS91099 (English 2.2): Visual Text (4 credits; Writing)

Course Costs: There are stationery costs associated with this programme and students are expected to purchase their own dictionary.

This course can work alongside ELL201 with students completing both classes at level two.
