Shamia Ali (Year 13) competed in the regional final of the Race Unity Speech Awards 2020 on Tuesday evening.

The competitors performed via Zoom link, and Shamia rose to the challenge of a very different environment and audience. She was awarded runner-up for her genuine, impassioned, and mature delivery of an important message about her experiences during and after the March 15 2019 attacks in Christchurch.
