Food and Nutrition (Option) - Year 10


The teacher in charge of this course is Mrs Buckley.

The aim of this course is to give students a broad understanding of Food and Nutrition and Food Technology.

Topics and skills in this course include:

  • food safety

  • nutrition; Food and Nutrition Guidelines, food groups, nutrients

  • food preparation processes and techniques

  • development of a food product

  • New Zealand Food Culture

  • Understanding information on food packaging

This course is a good introduction to Year 11 NCEA Food and Nutrition.
