South Island Squash Tournament
Last weekend we sent a team of three students, Tanisha Butt, Lily McGonigal and myself (Petra Curd-McCullough), up to Nelson to compete in the South Island Secondary School Squash Tournament.
We each had two games on Saturday as we had a bye in the first round. Our first game was against Marlborough Girls College. All three of us played well and managed to win our games in three.
This meant we won this round and progressed through to the finals. In the final we played against a mixed team with players from STAC, Cashmere and Middleton Grange.
Again all three of us performed very well and each won our game meaning we took out the tournament and became the South Island Secondary School Squash Champions for the second year in a row. We all had a really great time whilst away and were glad that we had enough time for a quick trip to the Pic’s Peanut butter Factory.
Thanks to Ms Lawrence and Ms Sisifa for taking us to and from Nelson and for making the trip even more enjoyable.
