#WearYourSupportNZ for our International Students

Megan Kong —

Last Friday, our Global Relations prefect Justine Kim organised a cultural non uniform day to help show support for our International student community stranded in New Zealand due to covid-19 border restrictions.

Students were encouraged to wear items of cultural significance to show the diversity of our school and to show support for our International students and the NZ International student community.

Many of our International students have been away from their families now since January 2020 and because of our current border restrictions they have had to make a choice between completing their education or seeing their families. This has been incredibly difficult for them and they have shown how brave and resilient they are with many prioritising finishing their education without knowing when they will be able to return home again.

It was fantastic to see the support from our students and to see our students and teachers wearing their own cultural items with pride. Kia kaha to our International students and their families, we are always here for you.
