Cold and Flu

CGHS Publication —

As we head towards the flu season, this is a timely reminder of what our school expectations are for our students when they are not feeling 100%.

  • Please do not send your child to school if they have any symptoms of a cold or flu. This includes a running nose, sneezing and coughing.
  • If your child is feeling unwell during the school day, students should take themselves to the office. The office will then ring home if needed (students should not call you themselves) – please ensure that they are picked up from the school as quickly as possible.

We will be encouraging our staff to stay away from school if they are showing signs of illness such as coughs and colds. We ask that you please do the same with your child. Colds and flus are common in schools and by staying away, seeking medical attention and practising good hygiene, we can all keep any spread of illness to a minimum.
