Archery 2019

Lauren Tucker —

The Archery team at CGHS is coached by Maria Tucker, a New Zealand coach who also has been an archer for a long time. The girls are a fantastic bunch who are supportive towards each other, while learning a new skill. This is done is a safe, controlled environment, located on the school field on Tuesdays after school.

At the end of each term, an exciting fun-shoot is held, whether it be shooting at balloons or even at a disliked celebrity. This may even be accompanied by a shared afternoon tea, with a bit of music. The Archery group is geared towards the girls getting to know students from other year levels, to gain friends and do something unique.

It is a privilege to be the captain of such a fantastic group of girls, their dedication and commitment shown through badges that are displayed on the student’s blazer, and we all work as a team to pack away the equipment and give a supportive hand to fellow students.

Archery is a fun sport while providing a challenge to yourself and to beat your friends. Indeed what a fun year it has been!

Archery Captain,

Lauren Tucker
