Year 12 Health Students Seminar
On Thursday, July 25th all year 12 students taking Level 2 Health will be taking part in a one-day workshop called Loves-Me-Not.
This is an official school day and therefore attendance is compulsory. Students may wear tidy mufti clothes for the day. It will be facilitated by our teaching staff and the New Zealand Police.
Loves-Me-Not is a ‘school approach’ to prevent abusive behaviour in relationships. It is based on a student inquiry learning process, where students take action (personal action, effective bystander action and community action) to prevent harm from relationship abuse.
Loves-Me-Not aligns with Achievement Standard 2.4, Analyse an interpersonal issue that places personal safety at risk, which we are currently studying.
Nigel Latta introduces the
programme through a 10-minute video that explains how Loves-Me-Not teaches
senior secondary school students about healthy relationships. The film
encourages parents to talk with their teenage children about navigating
relationships and avoiding abuse that can develop.
