Canterbury Festival of Water Polo

Rachael Cleeve —

Over the weekend, the Christchurch Girls High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora A Water Polo team competed in the Canterbury Festival of Water Polo.

They had 6 games over two days and came away with second place. In the pool round they had some big wins, 11-2 to SMC and 14-6 to Villa Maria. The final was a tough match against Rangi Ruru. This was held at Jellie Park as a substitution for the South Island tournament which, due to covid, was put off this year. It was a great last hurrah for the Year 13 girls: Summer Irvine, Jorja Bird, Issy Hinton-Russell and Neve Morrow.
