Virtual Culture Exchange with Japanese School

Megan Kong —

Juniors making connections and welcoming virtual visitors to our school.

In Term 2 a select group of Year 10 and students from 9CLJ had the opportunity to participate in an online cultural exchange with Yamate Elementary School in Sōja city, Japan. Students were able to  virtually meet a class of 12/13 year old Japanese students and introduce themselves, play games and ask questions. Students were able to have discussions about the similarities and differences between students and schools in New Zealand and Japan. It was a fun and interesting experience for both sets of students  and it was lovely to be able to welcome some international visitors to our school and have an exchange albeit virtually.
