At the start of the ski season, both the ski and snowboard teams entered the Canterbury school sports competition, held at Mt Hutt ski field. As we travelled up the hill in the van we were all full of excitement and nerves to hit the slopes. 

 Our ski team ( Mia Bushell, Ella Meikle, Katie Gardiner and Molly Smeele ) placed 3rd overall. With Mia placing 7th, Ella placing 14th, Katie placing 24th and Molly placing 36th. The snowboard team ( Holly Lodge Whitham, Freya Lodge Whitham and Lea Passchier ) placed 1st overall. With Holly placing 3rd, Lea Passchier 4th and Freya lodge Whittam placing 5th. 

Unfortunately due to the bad timing of being in the middle of school examinations the majority of us were not able to make it to the South Island competition in Wanaka so we had to call the trip off. Ella Meikle represented CGHS at the South Island Championships. Hopefully next year we can all attend the South Island Championships, Fingers crossed!!
