Temukisa Fetuao and Ema Pasikala represented Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora at the Pasifika speech competitions on Tuesday 22 May.

These were held at Riccarton High School and it was a wonderful event to showcase some of Canterbury’s finest young orators.

Ema competed in the junior Tongan section and spoke with flair and poise. It was her first time in these competitions and she was a wonderful representative for our school.

Congratulations to Temukisa, who won the senior Samoan section even though this was her first time as a senior competitor. Despite being one of the youngest competitors, her wonderful skills won over the judges on the day. She has earned the right to compete at the National competitions, which will be held later in the year in Wellington.
