Happy Halloween!! Student Librarians made a display for Halloween in the Library. They have enjoyed wearing witchy hats and spooky gowns to enjoy Halloween in the Library.


Battle of Bibliophiles

Christchurch Girls' High School/Te Kura o Hine Waiora team has participated in the National reading competition “Battle of the Bibliophiles” on Wednesday 2 November 10.30am to 12.30pm in the library. Anna Gardiner, Lily Stott, Olivia Donaldson, Anika Mackle-Bayley, Annabel Diprose and Annabelle Sewell, all from Y10, have done an incredible contest with fifty different High Schools around the country. Their teamwork and dedication were outstanding. This digital reading competition had three sessions based on fifteen selected books and Britannica School. The competition result will be judged and posted on Monday 7 November on the school library association.  Ka pai team!

Term 4 Library Event 

A big shout out to our Librarians who have managed to do wonderful activities during their break time. Thank you very much our fantastic Year 13 Librarians for their wonderful activities in the Library. Casey Reid (Head Librarian), Gabriella Eastgate and Sophie Needham (Deputy Librarians) had shown their creative ideas throughout the year and conducted a successful leadership to our Student Librarians. We have decided Head Librarian and Deputy Librarians for 2023. Congratulations to Ngārita MacKenzie (Head Librarian) and Jasmine Glennie and Ceiarra Fernando (Deputy Librarians) to lead the team next year.  Along with them, Meg Brophy, Mana Hiramoto, Gulza Ali, Rata Shaw, Methuli Perera, Naina Manoj, Preena Patel, Victoria Elegarle, Ffion Young, Lily Malcolm, Lily Saunders and Neata Macdonald will be on the Library Committee 2023.
