German Tour

Natasha Smith —

The 40 strong German Tour have arrived in Lindau on Lake Constance, surrounded by the Swiss, Austrian and German Alps, our home for the next 6 days.

What an adventure we have had so far! Starting in Paris, flying to Munich then onto Austria, Salzburg. Visiting the town of Mozart's birthplace, the beautiful town with its quaint streets and deep history. The town that also became famous through the musical - the Sound of Music. Next the salt mines, enjoying a ride down into the mines via train and slides crossing back into Germany then back into Austria whilst all underground.Travelling back to Munich to enjoy all the sights the city has to offer including: Marienplatz, the old and new town halls, Frauenkirche, the former royal residence and much more. We enjoyed a night out at the Hofbräuhaus restaurant, an experience the girls will relish forever! We had a solemn morning visiting Dachau Concentration Camp and finished the day off at the Oktoberfest, another highlight for the girls. We continued on to visit Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles where King Ludwig II resided until his death at only 40 years old.Arriving in Lindau you could sense the girls excitement as they meet their homestays. Classes started today, a mixture of all 4 skills with a heavy weighting on speaking. It was so encouraging to hear the positive feedback from the teachers about the students. The girls thoroughly enjoyed their first day.Lindau is the most beautiful town and you sometimes feel like you have stepped into a fairytale story. Tomorrow we will head up the Alps after morning classes to see across to Lindau from the other side of the lake...it will be a stunning adventure.Vielen Dank und Alles Gute aus Lindau
