This year the Otago Mathematics Competition attracted around 4500 students from 126 schools.

Students were given mathematical problems to solve and marks were awarded to students for clearly communicating each step of their solution.

Congratulations to Annabel Diprose (Year 10), Charlotte Xie (Year 11) and Sayu Weerasinghe (Year 9) for gaining Merit awards placing them in the top 50%. 

We are also very impressed with Medha Baadkar (Year 9) and Jamie Moffit (Year 9) who gained Distinction awards and which placed them in the top 15% of the competition.
