Qualification: NCEA Level 1

Entry requirements: For ākonga who have taken Y10 Drama or are new to the subject:

Ākonga will need black trousers/track pants and a long sleeved black T-shirt for performance work.

Content/Skills: This is a exciting new performance based drama course. The year will start off with a class production performed to the community. Ākonga will then perform a range of plays from Aotearoa including plays from Pasifika and Māori playwrights. The year will finish with ākonga creating their own devised piece.

Field Trips: These may include performances at The Court Theatre, Hagley Theatre Company and other school productions.

Course Costs: Theatre ticket costs and other workshop costs when applicable.

Assessment:

2 Internal Achievement Standards worth 10 Credits

1 External Achievement Standard worth 5 Credits
