Rowing End of Season Awards Dinner
On Sunday 21 May, the Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora Rowing team held their annual end of season Awards evening.
We had a fantastic turn out of 58 rowers, along with parents and coaches. This is an opportunity to celebrate the season and thank the rowers and parents for all of their hard work and support over the season.
A huge thank you to all of the parents as the club could not operate without your support on the committee, transport, parent help on camps and regattas. Speeches were given by the Chair - Katrina Joseph, Head Coach - Gary Hay and the outgoing Rowing Captain - Nina McKay.
Results for the two school regattas were:
South Island Secondary Regatta we came away with 2x gold, 1x silver, 3x bronze, 3x 4ths, 2x 5ths, 4x 6ths, 3x 8ths.
Maadi, if you combine both A and B finals together so the top 16 crews in New Zealand, we came away with 1x silver, 1x bronze, 3x 4ths, 2x 5ths, 1x 6th, 1x 7th, 1x 9th, 2x 10th, 1x12th.
