Michael Langdon, HOD music — Jun 20, 2019

In what continues to be a very busy term for the Music Department, we had five groups in the recent Chamber Music Competition, held last Wednesday, 12th June at ‘The Piano’.

This included a group of combined CGHS and CBHS students.

The students all performed extremely well and worked extremely hard. They are to be commended for being able to perform such difficult music to an excellent standard.

I would like to thank Anne Clark and Alan Dixon who spent a great deal of extra time tutoring two of the groups.

The students involved were:

CGHS String Quartet – Tutor Anne Clark

String Quartet op 20 no 4, Movements 2 (Theme and Variations) and 3 (Allegretto alla zingarese), by Haydn.

CGHS Guitar Ensemble – Tutor Alan Dixon

Sambatina and Tango - Ian Gammie

CGHS/CBHS Mendelssohn Trio – Tutor Michael Langdon

Concert Piece no. 2 Mendelssohn

CGHS Moskowski Trio – Tutor Michael Langdon

Suite in G minor Op 7, Movements 1 and 2 - Moskowski

CGHS Doppler Trio -Tutor Michael Langdon

Andante and Rondo Op 2 – Doppler
