CGHS Retains The Quadrangular Trophy

Robin Brown, Head of Sport —

Yesterday CGHS hosted the annual quadrangular exchange between Avonside Girls’ High School, Timaru Girls’ High School, Waitaki Girls’ High School and Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora.

The A teams in basketball, hockey and netball played from all schools at Nga Puna Wai (hockey) and Pioneer Stadium (basketball and netball). There was a great atmosphere at the venues with all schools getting great game practice and competition for up-coming winter tournaments.

CGHS won all their games across the three codes and retained the Quadrangular trophy for 2019 (see the overall score sheet below).

A big thank you must go to all the referees/umpires who officiated; it was great to have four of our student netball umpires. All the teams met at Nga Puna Wai for afternoon tea at the end of the matches; it was great to utilize this fantastic venue on such a beautiful Christchurch day. Thank you to everyone who made the exchange a success.
