Senior Theatresports Success

CGHS Publication —

The Senior Theatresports Team has continued its tradition of success, performing with style and flair in the recent final of the Court Theatre Competition.

Making the final for the first time in over a decade was an incredible achievement, for our team of Tilly Walbom, Gwyn Walker, Ffion Young, Emily McVicar and Bella Spillane.

Throughout the competition, the team have consistently demonstrated our school values, especially Rangatiratanga. After facing some early disappointing scores, they showed amazing courage and fortitude to perform what was undoubtedly their best scene of the night in the final round. Their Shakespeare was a crowd favourite and the bard himself would have been proud of their energy, word play and strong characterisation.

As always, the competition was fierce throughout the entire evening. Unfortunately, Cashmere and Christ’s College had the edge overall and were awarded first and second place respectively. However, in a very male dominated final, our team shone. They may not have won on the night but, as a group, they were the very definition of success.
