Accounting - Year 12

Qualification: NCEA Level 2

Entry requirements: Credits in NCEA Level 1 Accounting and at the discretion of the HOLA.

Content/Skills: This course includes applying accounting processes to prepare financial statements for sole traders. Students will study full sets of accounts, including analysis and interpretation of financial statements to help make informed decisions. Students will also learn to use Mind Your Own Business computer software to process financial transactions.

Field Trips: None.

Course Costs: Please be aware that this course has associated costs. By selecting this course you will be requested to make contributions connected to its delivery. These costs are: $25.00 for workbooks.

Assessment:

2 Internal Achievement Standards worth 8 Credits

3 External Achievement Standards worth 13 Credits

Where does it lead? NCEA Level 3 and tertiary diplomas and degrees.

Any management position in business or health or education or any other field requires an understanding of finances and accounts. If you want to own your own business, or to be a decision-maker and leader in any organisation, then study some Accounting.
