Deans House
Although this year hasn’t run as smoothly as we anticipated, Deans have had a great year.
The enthusiasm involved with this house although the circumstances have been outstanding. Even though we have had a number of disappointments for students, leaders and teachers due to covid, the house has been able to remain positive throughout the year and make the most of the opportunities we were still given.
We started off the year with swimming sports and athletics. This set the atmosphere for a great year full of house spirit, where the girls were very keen to get involved and participate in a number of activities. These events really helped me get to know all the different year groups and make connections with people I have never had a chance to interact with. This helped me throughout the rest of the year when I could use these relationships going forward. Athletics was especially a memorable event where it was the first chance the house could show its competitive side, I felt a large amount of school pride after seeing the spirit the girls had.
Even though lip sync didn’t end up going forward I was overwhelmed with the support I received from all years to help organise the performance. As the arts aren’t normally an area which I excel in, all the help with the soundtrack, dance moves, props, and the general organisation was very appreciated during the process. I was gutted lip sync was cancelled, as I know a number of other girls were after all their commitment.
Overall Deans has had a great year and it has been a pleasure to be head of this house. This house has made the most of all the opportunities while having a large amount of fun doing so. It has been so rewarding to see all the girls working together, and creating an atmosphere at school with a large amount of house spirit. I have had a large amount of support this year which does not go unnoticed, especially Ms O’Connor as the house teacher.
