Te Reo Māori - Level 1

Qualification: NCEA Level 1

Entry requirements: Year 10 Te Reo Māori.

Content/Skills: This course builds on vocabulary and structures from previous years. The four key language skills i.e pānui, kōrero, tuhituhi and whakarongo are further developed by studying topics such as; whānau, the marae, sports, Māori gatherings, school.

This course has a focus on ensuring the emergence to social competence when using Te Reo Māori.

Where does it lead? NCEA Level 2 / Year 12 Māori.

Assessment:

Assessment: Internal Achievement Standards: 10 credits in total. (Comprising of a presentation/speaking, writing and listening)

External Achievement Standards: 6 credits in total. (Comprising of a writing and speaking)

Where does it lead? NCEA Level 2.
