Last week Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora had three students participating in the South Island Secondary Schools' Ice Hockey Championships in Dunedin.

Lucy Eccleton was part of a composite team playing for Burnside High School; Alex Carmichael and Addison Hodge were playing for a St Andrew's College composite team.

This gave our students an opportunity to play competitive school ice hockey when we didn't have enough players to enter a team.

Alex's and Addison's team won the B grade competition after beating the Burnside High School team in the final.

Well done to all three players who played well against some very tough teams.
