Celebrating Eid Mubarak
We are observing Eid, Rotuman language week and Sign language week in our library. Thank you to our librarians for doing wonderful things in the library.
Eid Mubarak
The word 'Eid' means festive, or celebration and 'Mubarak' means blessed, which translates to 'a blessed celebration'. We have observed Eid ul Fitr, the biggest celebration after Ramadan (a dawn to dusk fasting month) this year. Student librarians created a fabulous display in the library on Eid. Muslim students showed their happiness to see the harmony in our school. Along with them students from other cultures are also showed their respect and joy at the Eid Celebration.
Rotuman Language Week
Rotuman language week is organised events throughout Aotearoa to show vibrancy of the Rotuman language, culture and traditions. We are observing it in our library. Student librarians enjoyed doing displays on various cultures. They are both sharing and building on their knowledge to build their connectivity.
Sign Language Week
Sign language is essential for Deaf people in education, health and other workplaces and is also essential for deaf people to be able to take part in the world. We have displayed a poster on sign language week and will start sign language learning sessions in our library this term.
