Raising Funds for Hagar

Paige Bowman —

Over the weekend I did my 27km walk to raise funds for Hagar and their work in Vietnam.

The charity works with survivors of human trafficking, abuse, and modern slavery to ensure that they are reintegrated back into their communities and have overcome the trauma of their experiences.

With your help I was able to exceed my fundraising goal and raise $777 in donations! 100% of this will be going to Hagar's projects in Vietnam and will go a long way to assist in the recovery of the world's most traumatized.

I ended up walking from Northwood to New Brighton and back again, as this was 13.5km each way. The walk took a total of six hours and although it was a challenge it was definitely worth it, as any money raised makes a positive impact. I will continue to work with Hagar as a part of their Youth Programme.  We learn about the charity's work in trafficking prevention, recovery as well as fundraising for their projects in Vietnam.

Feel free to ask me any questions about the walk as I would love to answer them! The above photo was taken on the way to New Brighton, and I have attached a link to Hagar's website where you can see in more detail the work that they do.
